Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved television series such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles on Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a announcement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a party host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series over nearly a decade.
His film credits are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.
The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, his children, and his family.
